Falmouth to Portland – 114nM
What would seem as a quick delivery to Portland from Falmouth, it took a little longer than expected as the weather conditions forecasted by the Met office were incorrect and even surprised the local Falmouth Coast guard.
The Fairline Phantom 48 is very sleek and modern and will certainly please anyone looking for the latest design. I have personally delivered this particular vessel twice for JD Yachts to both current and previous owners.
The huge immaculate engine bay is a breeze to navigate around for checks, and plenty of room for spares and even a washing machine!
Inside the 2008 boat is super modern. The saloon layout is a very comfortable with atmospheric lighting, comfortable seating
Next level down, mid ships, the galley is presented beautifully in an L shape and leads straight to the sumptuous ensuite cabins.
On leaving Falmouth with the owner on board the Fairline, the wave height was 2 - 3 metres, visibility down to 200ft and the boat handled brilliantly in the swell. The crew feeling a little uncomfortable, so we decided to leave it 6 hours for the wave height to reduce.
6 hours later, we headed out to sea where she cruised elegantly at 20 knots until we reached Eddystone rock, the swell increased somewhat. Due to crew feeling uncomfortable again, I decided to head in to Plymouth for the night.
A week later, with a perfect weather window, the boat cruised perfectly with no issues straight to Portland. A real delight with no issues and looks brand new on the berth in Weymouth.
